When beginning your journey into Nordmarka from Bogstad Camping, all you have to do is step outside your door – either with your bicycle, skis or just your two feet!
In what other capital can you both go skiing, kayaking, go to the beach and go skating – All inside the limits of the city?
SPORTS LODGES AND CABINS
Skiforeningen, DNT Oslo and Bymiljøetaten have many sports lodges and cabins in Nordmarka. These are open for hikers all year round, but remember to check the opening times before starting your journey! Some unattended cabins are available for an overnight stay if you have a key, while other cabins offer freshly baked goods and a nice cup of coffee for tired hikers. See overview over sports lodges here! (NB! Remember that Nordmarka is the closest)
Most of the trails in the woods are well marked, but it can always be a good idea to bring a map. The tourist information office has free maps over the woods, but you are able to purchase the best maps at “Den Norske Turistforening (DNT)” (However, their online shop is regretably still only in Norwegian) or in a bookstore.
